Who is Joell OrtizeThe Brick (Bodega Chronicles) is the name of his debut off Kosh/Aftermath. A friend recently put me on to this 27 year young upcoming rapper from Brooklyn, NYC named Joell Ortiz. Now what are we missing from the rap scene? We need someone who presents a fresh take on that ol' gritty NYC concept. Joell Ortiz raps with passion and wit. Presenting an honest view of his life in poetry similar to the early 90's Hip Hop. He reminds us a little of Big Pun & Fat Joe but with Brooklyn’s own spirit. He's clear and confident. His style is mastered and his delivery is cool. My hope is his music will mature to perfection and we can see more classics.
